Nursery Policies
MBC’s Nursery Ministry exists to provide a safe, loving, and enjoyable environment for children, so that parents may participate in other MBC ministries.
Sign-In
When you arrive at the nursery room, please sign your child in and fill in the requested information regarding how you wish to be contacted (text message or pager), your location, whether your child has a cup/bottle, whether your child may be fed snacks, etc. Also, for the infant nursery, please indicate whether you want your infant to be placed on his stomach or side/back.
Diaper Bags
A cubicle marked with your child’s name will be available for the child’s diaper bag. Please do not use the pegs under the cubicles to hang diaper bags; they are not strong enough. The pegs are to be used for the child’s coat. Please label all of the child’s belongings. If a pacifier is not labeled, it should be on a cord, which may be attached to the child’s clothing.
Contacting You
Pagers are available for your use in each nursery. Please be sure the pager number is written on the sign-in sheet.
We also have the option of sending you a text message if your child needs you during the service. The phone numbers you provide on the child information sheet are the numbers we put into our texting system. If you would like to receive a text, please note that on the updated sign-in sheet. If you choose the texting option, we require parents to take their child’s clip-on name tag for identification.
On occasion the text system can be used if your child struggles with the drop-off transition. Please tell the nursery workers if you would like a text telling you “all is well.” Sometimes a child will cry when the parent leaves or at some time during the service. If the child cannot be consoled after 5-10 minutes, the parent will be contacted. If the parent does not respond, a nursery caregiver will go get the parent. When picking up your child, you must return either the pager or the clip-on name tag. Only the person with the correct pager or name tag will be able to pick up your child.
Feeding
Caregivers will feed your child a bottle or juice that you provide. Formula must be premixed. A bottle warmer is available. Your child’s bottle or sippy cup must be labeled. Cheerios and animal crackers are provided to children as snacks, unless parents specify otherwise.
Illness
We are concerned about the health of all the children in our care. Much attention is given to keeping the nursery clean. Please do not place your child in the nursery if he has displayed any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash, open sores, or runny nose (anything but clear).
Quiet Room
There is a separate room within the infant nursery that contains pack-n-plays for sleeping babies and a rocking chair for breastfeeding mothers.

I Stand in Awe
God, who is the most valuable Being in all the universe, reveals Himself with clarity and authority through His Word. This means that the Bible is precious and should be valued more than any other book. This study seeks to acquaint young children with the characteristics of the Bible and its message of redemption. The goal is for children to develop a deep affection for the Bible and learn to treasure its Author.
He Has Been Clearly Seen
Creation proclaims a message about God. From the smallest snowflake to the largest star, all creation gives powerful testimony to the greatness and worth of the one, true, eternal Creator. With special attention given to the Genesis account, the goal of this study is that children view creation as a wonderful gift from a good and loving Creator who wants them to see, understand, and delight in His glory.

The Young Peacemaker
The Young Peacemaker is a powerful system published by Peacemaker Ministries that parents and teachers can use to teach children how to prevent and resolve conflict in a constructive and Biblically faithful manner. The system emphasizes principles of confession, forgiveness, communication, and character development, and uses realistic stories, practical applications, role plays, and stimulating activities.
The lessons in The Young Peacemaker may be summarized in Twelve Key Principles for Young Peacemakers: Conflict is a slippery slope, Conflict starts in the heart, Choices have consequences, Wise-way choices are better than my-way choices, The blame game makes conflict worse, Conflict is an opportunity, The Five A’s can resolve conflict, Forgiveness is a choice, It is never too late to start doing what’s right, Think before you speak, Respectful communication is more likely to be heard, and A respectful appeal can prevent conflict.
Fight the Good Fight
Christians must be fighters- that is, fighters in the battle for faith! This study identifies various battlegrounds of temptation and equips children with strategies for fighting against sin. They are encouraged to fuel their faith in God by remembering that strength, help, and victory are assured in Christ.
The Way of the Wise
The Way of the Wise curriculum is not merely about behavior, but about the heart. Since “folly is bound up in the heart” (Proverbs 22:15), we cannot change our attitudes and heart affections without Jesus. Jesus is the only bridge from the way of the foolish to the way of the wise. The Way of the Wise encourages children to pursue wisdom and to shun folly. The book of Proverbs is highlighted (along with many other parts of the Bible) as a great source of instruction in wisdom. Children are encouraged to read and memorize, and then to act on what they learn.
The 7 C’s of History
This curriculum takes the children from Creation to Christ using the 7 C’s of History; Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, the Cross, and Consummation. It also explores some other C’s along the way like the covenants and commandments God gave His people as well as answering questions like How do we know God exists? Where did the Bible come from? and Why can we trust the Bible?
Our PreK – 6th grade curriculum comes mostly from Truth 78, formerly Children Desiring God, this curriculum was developed by John Piper’s church. Additional curriculum descriptions have been taken from New Tribes Missions, Generations of Grace, and Peacemaker Ministries.
